I was taking a cab to the train station in Montreal to come home for Thanksgiving. I've taken cabs before, and had no problems, but this one was different. He was very persistent in hitting on men, even after I made it obvious I was not interested and had a boyfriend. I don't even understand because I'm not that attractive. He asked me to spend time with him before my train left, asked me for my phone number, gave me his phone number... asked me a bunch of personal info, and said something along the lines of, "You're a very pretty girl... we could go out, have something to eat, I could take you shopping, buy you lots of nice things. You're 18, right? We could go back to my place, have some wine... and what happens from there is up to you." I kept saying no, and asking him to stop, but he was very persistent right until he dropped me off. (I made him drop me off by a security guard.) Am I just reading too much into this? Should I report him or just let it go?

Sorry, I just noticed a typo. Should read, <> (not men). I just don't want to make a big deal out of something if it's not... is there a way to check if he actually works for a cab company? He gave me his phone number on a business card.

Do you think I should report him to the police or just to the company?

Reading too much into it???? He made it pretty obvious what he wanted. You should report him to the cab company! Will they do anything about it? Who knows....if they don't, then report the cab company to a newspaper.

How would it have felt if it was midnight & he was driving you to your home address?

In the future, if this ever happens again.....say NO and ask to be dropped off at the closest public spot. Don't keep driving with him, don't let him intimidate you.

Stay safe.

Report him and give the police a serious, accurate description. You may find that this guy wasn't even a real cab driver. Rapists, murderers, etc. commandeer cars and do what just happened to you. There are alot of creeps out there. Next time a "cab driver" acts this way, get out of the cab at the first available safe time to bail.

Honestly, after living in Montreal for 4 years, this is pretty common behaviour from the cab drivers... they are all really creepy... I have been hit on numerous times by these guys and my friends have some pretty bad stories too... you could report him, but is it really gonna make a difference??

Report him. He sounds creepy. You may save a person from being raped. He sounds like the type of person who is very overbearing and wants to take your energy. Grab your own power back. I'm sure that the cab company will thank you. Take care, Maeve.

As I have told my kids time and again, LISTEN TO YOUR INSTINCTS! If the situation feels threatening or uncomfortable, then it probably is. He definitely needs to be reported. It sounds as if he could get hostile, possibly violent, given the right time and place. Someone in authority needs to know what he's doing.

I WOULD SAY JUST LET IT GO. LOOKS LIKE HE IS A POOR MAN WITH NO GIRL FRIEND OR WOMEN. AS LONG AS HE DID NOT THREATEN YOU OR TOUCHED U. YOU SHOULD TAKE IT LIGHTLY. AND BE SMART NEXT TIME, AND LEARN HOW TO TACKEL MORONS LIKE HIM.
