Servers are often actresses - you appease people with conversation when in other situations you might not. You'll absolutely make more $$ if you are seen as flirty...as long as you don't compromise your integrity, play the part & make your $$. Try it for a week & see what you think.

You should not have to "sl*T it up" to get bigger tips. A great personality, and fun attitude will go a long way towards winning people over.
I would say that not bringing up your husband in conversation would be a good idea. I don't think you should take your wedding ring off just to appear available. You can adopt the whatever happens in the bar, stays in the bar line of thinking. Flirting is completely harmless, as long as it ends at flirting.
Whatever you decide to do, I would hope that you put some thought into it. Once your reputation becomes tarnished, there is never any way to repair it. You would not want to be perceived as a sl*t for just a few spare dollars.... It's just not worth it.

While I don't agree that women in short skirts are more likely to be raped (what a suggestion), I think that a pretty young woman working in a bar needn't dress like a hooker to get male attention and tips. Leave your diamond at home (more muggings take place at night) but keep the wedding ring. Well-fitted black slacks and bright-colored tops -- perhaps with a scoop neckline -- should be both appropriate and attractive. Good luck and take care.

Leaving your wedding band at home is probably not the best idea - at least for your marriage, anyway. I can't speak for your husband individually, but I don't know how many husbands would appreciate their wives dressing scantily AND going sans wedding band. If you dress in a way that flatters without revealing too much, and put your biggest smile and most cheerful nature forward, you should be successful. You should never, ever, have to "sell" yourself like your friends suggest.

You know what..... you should do what your heart is telling you to do. Because a job,, all jobs, are like acting. You have to put on a happy face whether or not you feel that way, you have to be nice to people you would rather not be nice to, so yeah,, if your job is more profitable by acting it up,,,, then have at it and have some fun! About the wedding ring....I don't think I would go quiet that far with out running it past my hubby to make sure he is gonna be ok with it.

You are looking to make extra money, so unless you are looking for extra money as a call girl dont bother with the slutty outfits. Yes men tip better (as my daughter has informed me ) if you let a little cleavage show. However, as she also informed me, after a few drinks, most men will come on to anyone and the tips get higher if the service is good. So dont sacrifice your own personality to make a few extra dollars. It is really drunks who tip heavy and not men interested in dating.

Don't listen to them. Don't sell your marriage and your soul for a little more money. You need not talk about your husband if they don't ask, but if they do why not. Keep wearing your wedding ring.

If you want to be a fake and a phony then by all means do as they suggest. Or you can be true to yourself and be who you really are and make less money. Money is not worth your self respect.
Have you ever considered that by taking the second job you may be taking that job away from someone that truly needs the work and is trying to get off welfare. I am against second jobs just because a person wants to have "little extra cash". That extra cash in your pocket could be preventing a mother from paying her rent because she does not have a first job let alone a second job.

Hmmm...well, the truth of the matter is if you do what your friends said you will make more money. Is it wrong...kind of. But the question that you are asking, is a question that you should be able to answer for yourself! There is nobody in the world who can make that kind of decision for you, but you.
