1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic equals one clove. So, 1/2 x 5 = 2 1/2 teaspoons of minced garlic equals 5 cloves of garlic.

why dont you chop it if you have to be so exact and measure what you have ....each cloves is different size some can be large and some small....
