it started a few months ago wiv a little lump under the skin felt like a bit of gristle that i could move around.
then i woke up the other morning and its a big lump, very painfull to sit down and even walk, now quite a big area of my bum cheek around the lump is red raw and the actual lump is purple about the size of a 2pence piece. and now it even looks like its peeling a bit (not much)? any ideas what it is

It may need to get drained. Go and see a doctor. it could be an abscess

It sounds like a boil. Don't horse around with it. Go straight to the doctor before the infection spreads. Boils are painful and if not treated properly and quickly they can take a very long time to heal. Go now!

Its a boil.
Put a hot wash cloth on it many times a day. It will come to a head and look like a huge pimple. Dont pop it.
It will go away. just watch for thick blues/red lines popping up under your skin around the boil. that is blood poisening.

You have a boil, and hot compresses, or a drawing salve should bring it to a head. If you experience extreme discomfort due to it's location, a doctor can lance it, so it will drain, and the swelling will go down. It sounds gross, but it is a common affliction, affecting many people, and can occur any where on the body.

It sounds like a boil. Or could be an ingrowing folicle. DO NOT Squeeze it, it can get more infected. If it is that sore go to the docs and they will probably gove you intibiotics :-) Very Painful

You must go to the doc's.
If it is a boil it can burst and believe me you do not want that to happen as it can get infected and be very painful and take a long time to heal.

It sounds like you have a boil on your bum, go to the doctor and get it sorted out or it may get infected.

sounds like you got a boil there not serious but can be painfull especially were you got it give it a week if it dont improve see your doc and ice my help take the swelling down
