Outside of being a common symbol used by Satanism, to convey the antithesis of Christian belief and morality, the upside down cross is commonly associated with St. Peter. As Jesus’ chief Apostle, Peter felt that he was not worthy to die in the same manner as his Savior. So, tradition states that he asked to be crucified upside down by his executioners. His executioners obliged.

An "inverted" latin cross is called Peter's cross. When the apostle was to be crucified, he asked, the legend claims, to be hung upside down.
Satanists like to invert Holy symbols and claim them as thier own.
Show anyone today a pentagram and they automatically assoicate it with satanists. However, the pentagram is a good-luck symbol and was once used to represent the 5 wounds of Jesus.
Its the inverted pentagran which is associated with evil.

The inverted cross is marginally similar to the symbol for Thor's Hammer, Mjollnir. That is all I know about that.
