The world and the sea that is passing away is the wicked world of mankind and everything that has been created by it. It is not the literal earth and the sun that God created. They, themselves are not flawed. Remember how the earth was made new in Noah's day??? The earth was still standing when the waters receeded--only the men who refused to obey God and all the things that they had made were gone.

It's just not going to happen.
Psalms says the earth will be the inheritance of righteous people.
Revelation says God will pitch his tent with mankind......................
If God can create all things, i'm sure he can keep his creations working.
