I don't know about Liverpool but the Leyland Atlantean only had a small engine cover where the Daimler had a better cover. and the Atlantean was also noisy and the Daimlers where a soft sounding engine. The Atlantean was a cheap built bus compared to the Daimler and the Olympian and much lighter.

Then the Olympians they where nice buses lovely to drive and quiet, and well fitted. this being the better bus of the three. Although You could not beat a Daimler with a Park Royal body on for comfort and drive.

The Leyland Atlantean and Daimler Fleetliner were both very popular buses, but they fall into insignificance when compared to the almight Routemaster.

So many wonderful buses to remember. AEC Regents, Bristol Lodekkas, Leyland Panthers and Panther Cubs..... all gone now, apart from a few in private hands. What a shame. I wonder if the London Bendy Bus will ever become a cult classic?
