Granted, it is not my home and I informed him I understand it is not where I live, but we do share a lot of food together and we drink and eat from the same counter and I think it is just totally disqusting to have this fly trap hanging over the counter above the utensils, toaster and dish of cookies. I was given permission to move it and he said he did not care. Keep in mind, I am a registered nurse and a little germ phobic.
This afternoon when I went to his house, his 28 year old son put the sticky trap back over the top of the counter. He moved in with his dad about a month ago with his pregnant girlfriend.
His dad says "I didnt tell him to put it there" to which I responded I would never eat anything in the house again if they insist on putting maget, diseased, infested fly traps over the counter. A huge argument followed and I left angry and upset that this 28 yr old mooch is allowed to run this house like that. I think he did it because he wanted me to get mad. Do you?

Wow -- a 28 year old mooch . . . that does not sound like a very good start of a relationship with your boyfriend's son.

It is their house, their decisions. Is your boyfriend mentally challenged? If not, how about you let them do their own house cleaning and so on.

So do not eat over there . . . whether it was done intentionally or not -- I do not like it either, but until the two of you are actually living together, this should remain a tiny issue.

With all there is to do in this world, why spend your time arguing over this matter? If you know a better place to put the tape where it will actually work or you have a better solution, by all means suggest it to them and let them make the decision. Otherwise, let it be.

I think you should probably just let it go. It's not your house, and it's not your decision whether his son can live there or not. Sounds like you're wound a little tight to begin with, and you're a bit jealous that you're not living in the house and his"mooch" son is. I think he probably did do it to get to you, and it worked. Now you look like a great big jerk over nothing. Sorry.

yah it's nasty i think, but if you dont like how he does thing's, i can't understand why you would even go there anyway! i mean if the same thing happened to me, that would be my last time,or at least last time i ate "anything there" but you said he hung it back up just to piss you,ide just stay away from him. problem would be solved.

I agree with you, it's gross and he could very likely be trying to get at you. Flies do occasionally fall off those things and if you were preparing a salad under it who knows.....!!

I don't know if he did it to make you angry. But I would not have fly paper anywhere in the kitchen.

I really don't think that's a good idea if he doesn't know about it.
