Religion was created by man for man. Therefore there was no omnipotent being (god) before man came to worship idols, the sun, or supernatural beings.

Steve I know where you are coming from. Religion means a belief in the supernatural. So before Christian faith people had religion and beliefs in their own gods. It is that the Christain faith became more available to the masses by the spreading of gospels. So God or a greater force has always been there since time began.

He has to be the same God we have now, since He created all things. At least that is something on which Christians and Muslims are agreed . The first religion may have been started by Abraham, another thing we are agreed on. Since then, though, there have been many divergent opinions (based on self-interest?) - Isaac (for the Jews) and Ishmael (for Muslims) would have been the first. Incidentally, both major religions believe in each other's founder-prophet, for they are historic facts. The difference is that Christians believe Jesus was Divine. Many folk "shoot themselves in the foot" when they talk about myths.

There was always God

Revelation 1:11
Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What you see, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamum, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Revelation 1:8
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, says the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

Now show me where God uses the word religion he don’t

Here is the Greek word for religion

threskeia thrace-ki'-ah

Now here are the definitions of the word

From a derivative of 2357; ceremonial observance:--religion, worshipping.

So you see man came up with the term religion not God but God did tell us he was first and he will be last pretty easy don’t ya think?

Before there was religion there were bad gods. Now we have religion and God is good.
Before there was religion there was paganism and that was really freaky. There were human sacrifices and all that kind of stuff.
Now there is religion and you have the chance to go to heaven.
Me, I'm a saint so I'll be going to heaven, hope you do too.

Since God is the focus of religion and religions are based on a belief in a God of some sort, this is a silly question

that's a very good question. i never thought about it. supposedly there was no god because when religion was started, god showed up. i don't think that's what happened. i think somebody made up religion, and therefore made up god. that's just an idea though. like i said, i never really thought about it................

anyone starting or forming a religion invents a god to worship. all gods are just what someone says they are and it is only guess.
we still have paganism and they do not have human sacrifice in fact pagans worship all life rather than a god

God always was and was here before man wa made and before man had 'religionz'

there were , however, no false godz before man was made
and God is not dependant on mans views, not does He change based on their views being accurate or not

you may draw a map of the world that makes Ohio as big as Europe... but... the world is not different and Ohio State is not 10 times as large. It is what it is independent of how accurate the map is
