If you saved the money than she should allow you to buy it.
Do you have that much? If you do, than make your case. I think you can win her over. Just say how hard to worked to earn it and she will cave.
If you don't than accept her verdict. 350 is a lot of money to spend on a frill.
That's a week's pay dude that could be lost just by dropping it or losing it.
I would never spend that much.

She feels that she is doing best by helping you manage your money. I guess as long as she isnt spending any of it, she is doing no harm 2 u. I suggest you save it and make sure she doesnt even know that you are saving it, then just go ahead and get the ipod. What can she do if u buy it with YOUR money?

How old are you? You need to tell her that if you are going to have your own money then you can put it into a bank account if she wants to keep an eye on it. It is your money. Make a stand and tell her that you don't get to control her money and to back off.

Rethink about it. But from her point of view. Does $350 do much for her? Is the item really needed? Is there a less $$$ item? Best of all, she is your mother. As the saying goes, Mums' knows best.

within reason.. your mom is just trying to make sure that you make the right purchases but you need to explain to her that its your money. i dont think that that is a ridiculous purchase. like i remember when i was 15 my mom wouldnt let me get acrylic nails for my homecoming because they would ruin my nails even thought i was going to pay for it. but now im 19 so she cant tell me what to do lol.

It's hard to say. We don't know how old you are. However, if it's your money that you earned either through working or saved from gifts then you should be able to buy what you want with it.
