I know faith is a big part of religion. But i fear it will take me a lifetime to desipher, evaluate and learn. Isn't it a wreckless notion to just automatically believe the first thing that was put in your face as a child without deep unbias evaluation?

I believe what you are saying hits home more than people realize. God is the one who created this HUMONGUOSLY VAST earth, scattering us abroad, thereby diversifying us before we even knew what diversity was. It only makes sense to me this divine puzzle is not of ONE religion but many overlapping. But the one thing all religions have in common, is LOVE> true unconditional undying Love, for faith is love and love is God's.
And just for the record, my faith since childhood has probably more than quadrupled because of the life and childhood He blessed me with. My family had not chosen a religion, we just believed.

Look it maybe confusing. God is only one god, he created us and still he is the only god no matter how many religions exist. All God's religions include only (Christians, Moslems, Jews), other than the heathen religions, aim to one thing, worship the omniscient God. There may be some differences from over-time intrusions or additions in some of the three religions. My only and "best advice" for you is to explore each of three religions thoroughly and then decide which is best "wisely". In fact, I'm an Egyptian-Moslem....

First, God and faith are not of the head and are not something to be difinitavely figured out or understood. They are of the heart/soul. You have to take a leap of faith on instinct. IF you take this leap God will catch you and guide you in the right direction for you.

btw. spirituality is a life time journey not a destination so you may leap today and grow in understanding as a budhist and 30 years from now be following a muslim or christian path.

Xians and others get around this problem with revelation. They say once you learn and open your heart or mind, you will recieve all you need to know. This is their usual tactic to blame your lack of faith on you, instead of on logic, reason, evidence, or anything else a rational person might use to challenge them.

I'm beginning to learn that we'll never beat the xians on any religious argument. They have theologians working round the clock to come up with the most convoluted ideas (like the one above) to counter any argument we might have. If you really challenge them, they will go through all sorts of mental acrobatics to defend their position and blame your lack of faith right back on you. Its quite impressive how far they are willing to go, actually. There is no limit, aparently, to how much humans are willing to engage in self-deception.

IMO there's only one way to God and religion does not have anything to do with it.
The Lord Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the life, and no one can come to the Father, but by me."

Having a relationship with God does not require many religions all you have to do is believe on the Lord Jesus and accept the salvation he has prepared for you. It's a spirtual thing!

Peace,

Hope

Jesus Himself says there is only one way to the Father and that is thru Him. It is taking us all a lifetime to know and understand so don't feel like the lone ranger!
If this is the teaching you were taught as a child you are very special and someone really loved you! Granted, the people that taught you weren't perfect and still aren't, but the One they taught you about is. You'll know when you're ready to believe. I did.

if everyone walked the same road ... that road would be very worn
we should all take different paths but i am quite sure all of these paths lead to the same place
do what feels right to you , live life the best you can and love and treat others as you would wish to be loved and treated
i dont think you can go wrong with that xx

For those who truly have faith in destiny, there is no doubt that it is unwavering, and that the present state of the world is truly God's will. While it may seem harsh and cruel, we must learn to find purpose in divine action.

Maybe God wanted it this way.

But the way I see it - the reason that there are so many types of religions is because God isnt real and doesnt exist.

Of course God wanted it this way! Do you think that he wanted us all to be the same? Just because people believe in him (or her) in different ways doesn't mean that ulitimately it isn't the same being. Life is great that way. He gave us freewill and part of that included choosing how we wanted to praise him, alone in our hearts, or one of many organized religions.
