We have a guy at work who thinks sending us 30 links he got from google somehow represents good research. I see the same stuff going on here. Is the stuff impossible to summarize?

Some people simply cannot do it - they either lack the skill to make a salient point or they just don't care. I notice that some people take entire passages from the bible and post them via cut and paste, and it drives me insane - particularly when a short paragraph with a few well thought out points would do the trick nicely.

To simply put it, I suck at summarizing. My summarizing usually results in words that I just changed to whatever synonyms I can think of (or find) and deleting some words here and there to maybe shorten it all a line or two.
I'm not in school any more so I don't see why it matters if the words are my own or not. I can't even agree on why even bother when we can look up the information ourselves, but that would only bring up all the other questions on here like lyrics to a song or whatever all things people could just look up for themselves but are asked on here.

That is a good question: I guess because they are too busy or too lazy to write enough information. I usually try to send a website and leave the research to the asker. You don't need google or any other site to surf the web for information. For instance very few people remember the "Rocket Sled" that propelled human riders at 1500 MPH at ground level
It was a forerunner test during the development of space Rockets To check it out just for interest, just enter a Keyword or to and click on Search

Such as: "ROCKET SLED" (SEARCH)

It is easier than logging on to a single website, because it givel you choices.

Good Luck and don't depend upon others when you don't have to. I use the Search Engine at the upper right hand corner of the screen.

One would think so. I had one questioner think I cut and pasted, when I really did just summarize and even provided the references and pages I was summarizing from. It's all relative.

it isn;t impossible, but if you are asking a religious question, mostly the religious people answering will copy and paste scripture, their excuse is.....gods word is my word. I wonder why they can't copy and paste the scripture or quote and then summarize the content and add what it means to them and how it is relevant to the question...in their OWN words. To me when they do not do that it casts a very poor light on their intelligence.

stable question...and many stable solutions. My answer: It varies. i will attempt to respond to intense question. i don't get entangled with "Who might win a combat in the shallow end of a swimming pool: A shark or a polar bear?" (That replaced right into a real question.) or perhaps somewhat some the "Who might win: Bruce Lee or xxx?" If I do answer, this is in many cases to show out that Lee is ineffective and xxx does not have a confusing time beating a rotted corpse. often, i don't do lots learn. I answer questions i understand the solutions to. I even tend to do learn whilst somebody is calling a intense question approximately which gymnasium or dojo seems superb. i will carry on with the links, look on the web content, and supply an answer. As others have mentioned, i will in many cases purely do learn if it's going to help me or my understanding of a few thing. confident, i'm getting very pissed off whilst somebody possibilities an answer only approximately on the instant...even whilst that answer is an exceptionally undesirable one. for that reason, right here and on another sites the place I answer questions (Trulia, Zillow--i'm additionally into genuine sources), I initiate with the latest questions and artwork my some time past. it is not possibly to get a "superb answer" award yet extremely to offer a stable answer initially. If different human beings have extra valuable solutions, large. yet by making use of the time a query has 6 or 8 or extra solutions (mockingly, like this one), the percentages of my enter being considered drops considerably. I relish earning factors. yet--as regulars right here in all possibility word--I generally supply an answer yet initiate with "XXX offered an incredible answer. you ought to provide him the 'superb answer' award." and that i additionally learn lots right here from interpreting the different solutions. i'm maximum efficient in the climate of BJJ, grappling, MMA, and wrestling. i'm weaker in--have extra to income approximately--classic martial arts. So I relish the discussions on those subjects. right here on Yahoo, I additionally am somewhat lively in "words and Wordplay" and the countless business enterprise, finance, and genuine sources components. I be conscious exceedingly lots a similar critera there. yet in those (exceedingly "words and Wordplay"), somewhat some young ones are asking homework questions. in the event that they actually do not comprehend some thing, i will attempt to describe it. yet I draw the line whilst somebody posts a million/2 a dozen homework questions and easily needs somebody else to do the artwork. desire that enables.
