Hey precious Gem,

Natural Olive oil hot oil treatments work great on over-processed hair. Just take a trip to your local grocery store. Skip the beauty supply store, unless you're buying a deep conditioner. And, I'm giving you the best advice in the world: use Black hair products. Many Blacks chemically treat their hair and treat it with conditioning/moisturizing hair products. Anything containing alcohol will strip any more oils you have left in your hair out baby. So, just treat your hair with a little olive oil and you'll be fine.

And, P.S. - Please take note: you do NOT have to pay loads of money and take lots of trips to the salon. Gem, all you have to do is take care of your hair. This means moisturize it. Throw away and disown any hair products with alcohol in them, if you have any. Stay faithful. Your hair will be great in no time if you follow my advice. If your hair feels like straw, then of course, you gotta moisturize it. I must emphasize: olive oil is great.

Unfortunately, your hair is pretty much fried.

You can try conditioners, or seeing a hair salon professional. However, there is nothing that is guaranteed to work. Generally speaking, the only treatment for fried hair that will really give any results would be removal. Conditioning and such can work, but generally the effects are minimal.

My suggestion would be to do one of the following.

1) Cut it off, shave, or just remove it to a small length to minimize the existence of the damaged hair.

2) Attempt conditioning. Though not guaranteed to yield any results, it may improve the quality of your hair somewhat, however it is not a guarantee that any results will come of it.

3) Live with it. Just trim trim trim. It'll grow out eventually and if you properly maintain your hair, it will look as good as ever, if not better.

Basically you're gonna have to take the hit. Just suck it up and drive on. There's a lot to learn from this. I don't know how experienced at hair dying you are, but conditioning is a very very important part of the process, as it is designed to prevent this exact situation.

Good luck.

Get a salon quality product for color treated/damaged hair (shampoo, conditioner, and styling products). I had the same problem and kept trying drugstore brand after brand with no lasting results. Now, I use Matrix Biolage (which is just one of the many brands offered at your local salon), and I will NEVER go back to cheaper products again. My hair has never felt or looked better!

wash it with a gentle shampoo and use a hair mask like ABSOLUTE REPAIR, from LOREAL, leave it on for at least 15 minutes, and if posible, covered with a hot wet towel, so the heat helps the mask to get into the hair shaft, then once you rinse out, apply some serum to help comb it, try not to use hairdryer, that will make it worse and more dry.

a hot oil treatment, you buy this in little tubes, heat it in hot water and treat your hair, this is very good conditioning your hair when damaged giving it life and body without making it lank and greasy that over covering with some conditioners can do.

You cant repair it as such, because its ruined now, but you can make it look and feel better by using lots of conditioners and hot oil treatments, and get it trimmed regularly.

Deep cond. from your local salon would help and you're defiantly going to need a trim. Also, use a good hydrating shampoo and cond. for reg. use.
