As said before skim or collect as much of the burnt parts you can....then skim off as much oil as you can (the oil holds alot of that flavor...add 2 cups of water to dilute...continue to cook to reduce...add 1 table spoon of brown sugar to taste..if you have liquid smoke add a few drops(its very strong) this will add a "smoky" taste which will enhance the flavor and will actually work well with the burned taste you were trying to eliminate in the first place...good luck
P.S. don't tell anyone and they won't even notice it...enjoy
on more trick to get the oil off the top...use a spoon to get the most off you can...then,dip a paper towel a little at a time to soak off whats left...

The bottom of the pot is probably where the burnt chili is. You can simply dump the chili out of the pot without scraping the bottom of the pot. If you have already stirred the chili and scraped the bottom, you may not be able to stir it.

Damn.....I did the same thing last weekend. Luckily it wasn't too bad. I don't think there is any way to mask the burnt taste. I was ready to trow mine out, but it wasn't that bad. Good Luck!!!!

I always serve mine with shredded cheddar, sour cream and jalapenos. Maybe you could try that to cover up a little burned flavor.
