I would have to say Rachmaninoff(late Romantic era).
The Modern era composers like Stravinsky, are more Schizophrenic than "EMO",

EMO huh? I think it should be Beethoven, especially when his hearing got worse as he aged. Imagine trying to get a tune out something when he couldn't hear anything while trying to write a music score. He must have banged his head on the piano several times for each note he penned down.

Beethoven was more crochety than emo . . . but Mozart was a spoiled brat until the day he died, and he was definitely emo for his whole musical career. He would sulk and drink himself into a stupor when things weren't going his way, and he wrote lots of his music in his "good" moments.
