I just heard that my daughter's father (who she never got to meet) died 3 weeks ago, and I just want to make sure before I tell her. Does anyone know how I can find out for sure besides just trusting the people that told me?

If you know the area or town in which he lived you can go to the local newspaper web site and or archives on the computer and look in the obit section. If he is dead then his obituary should be in there...good luck!

Death certificates are public information. you just have to find out where he supposedly died and contact someone in the records department of the city government.

You could also do an obituary search for the local paper where he lived. Most have archives you can search.
