No people, they're not back in Fort Campbell yet - they deployed later than the rest of the Division (this is open source) and got sent to Ar Ramadi or thereabouts (also open source) ... not back yet and no idea when they'll be back (this isn't an OPSEC violation). By the way, dealing around open source is NOT a matter of "National Security". It's kind of hard to hide several thousand troops from a line unit and pretend they don't exist!
After Currahee left Camp Greaves, it took a while for them to be reconstituted as 4th BCTUA, 101st ABN DIV (AASLT) - in fact, they weren't even officially recognized as 506th even when the rest of the Division left without them!
And last I checked, they were a full Brigade, NOT a Battalion - as I saw above.
By the way, if you're trying to find anyone from that unit prior to the colors being uncased at Fort Campbell, chances are they're long gone by now. Good luck finding out.

I went and doubled checked eventually many people do not understand the military. The 1/ 506 as you and I knew it was deactivated and reorganized into the 4 th. Bn of the these Screaming Eagles-(what did Arnold say girlie men)? They are Air Mobile not Air Borne like the Herd!!! :-)
As far as I remember deactivated. Try this to be sure:

Good Luck finding them. Not to sound like a smart mouth. It may be a matter of National Security.
You know how it goes. These that need to know do but those whom don't need to know don't.
You may be able to go to Veteran's Affairs and ask for their help since you are a vet. However it may take a long time to get answer
