It's just a word like any other word, and most of the times it's over used...and just tossed out like any other verb in conversation. "I hate this, or I hate that." etc. So most of the times it's completely innocuous.

What's scary though are the people who don't say it...but embrace the emotion and let it control them.

Hate is dislike taken to the extreme. True hate is something that takes over your good sense and nothing that the hated does or says can change that feeling in you. Everything that the hated does is wrong. Everything that the hated says is wrong, in your mind. But the hated usually win that battle because to truly hate someone ruin's every part of you, takes up much of your time and dominates your entire life. To hate someone is to hate yourself.

Hate is the strongest emotion known to man, and it is the direct opposite of Love and it is also stronger than love in many ways. It can eat up a person's insides to the point that person's spirit and inner being does not exist anymore. Hate is when a person dislikes another person from his actions or just existing and this fuels that person so much that person does not exist to love anymore, but, hates everyone and everything in this whole world.

I don't believe I have ever experienced real hate. Great dislike perhaps, but hate, never.

Hate is propagated by more hate and fear. It is carried down through generation after generation, instilled in the very young who really have no clue as to the meaning of Hate.

If we all hated, there would be no redemption for mankind.
Thank goodness it isn't widespread although what is around now is too much as it is.

Hatred can definitely be evil but that is not the whole story. What we hate says a lot about who we are. All of us have emotional and attitudinal stances toward certain issues in life, and this is where what we hate is important: we move to be different from whatever that is. Hate moves to destroy bad things.
Imagine a world where no one hated child molestation. Unbearable to think of, isn't it?
It is important to know what it is we hate and why we hate it and then use that energy to solve problems, not create them.

I like this quote from C.S. Lewis:
"Certain things, if not seen as lovely or detestable, are not being correctly seen at all."

What is Hate?

Hate causes a feeling of disgust to well up inside you. You loathe, abhor, despise the object of your hatred. The very thought of it makes you recoil. When the wife of his master tempted, begged and even grabbed hold of Joseph for immoral purposes, he did not have to stop and try to reason out what he should do. A moment of hesitation could have meant ruining his relationship with God. He simply ran. His hatred of what was bad triggered an automatic reaction and protected his good conscience with God. (Gen. 39:7-12) Likewise today, as hatred separates people, godly hate will separate you from wrongdoing.

WRONG AND RIGHT KINDS OF HATRED

This word “hate” has several shades of meaning. It may denote intense hostility, sustained ill will often accompanied by malice, that impels one to bring harm to the hated object. This is a wrong kind of hatred. It has a bad motive. It is born of the Devil, often is nurtured in a confused and frustrated mind, and is invariably misdirected. The whole history of men and nations under the Devil’s control has been practically a continuous account of violent bloodspilling hatred. Sometimes only a few individuals are involved. At other times anarchy and revolution engulf a whole nation. Frequently the hatred bred by international wars blots out the lives of thousands of innocent ones.

“Hate” may also signify a strong dislike, but without any intent to bring harm to the object, seeking instead to avoid it as when one loathes something distasteful. This kind of hate is good if directed against that which is bad.
This right kind of hatred is in imitation of God, the God of righteousness. He does not hate what is bad because of frustration nor does he manifest his hate in uncontrolled, intemperate, violent actions. God’s hatred of what is bad is a principled hatred. Such hatred does not disturb one’s peace of mind and afflict one with ulcers. It is a strong dislike, an extreme aversion, a pronounced distaste, a profound repugnance of what is bad. It means to loathe, to abhor, to abominate whatever is bad because it is wrong, very harmful and wholly unloving.

If you were to read 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 you would see what love is.
Hate is just the opposite. Hate is mean, it is envious, it boasts about itself, it is proud, it is rude, it is self seeking, it is easily angered, it keeps a record of wrongs. Hate delights in evil and hates the truth. It always is harmful, never trusts, always despairs, always gives up. Hate always fails.
It is all things opposite of love, pretty miserable isn't it?

An emotion that is self defeating. It is the opposite of love, respect and compassion. An unquenchable fire that always needs to be kept in check lest it consume you. The dark side of man. Not evil unto itself, but a catalyst for evil both great and small. It is every present in all mankind.

Hate is an inability to accept someone else. It usually stems from fear and fear usually stems from ignorance. Therefore ,the best way to remove hate is to learn about that which you hate and fear and try to practice love. Start with yourself. Hate needs no more cosideration. Let's talk about love and trust.
