The ipod will come with the software needed to 'rip' cd tracks (that is convert them to the appropriate format). It will probably have software to connect to sites that have music available. The disk will also have full instructions and there will probably be a quick reference booklet.

It will come with instructions, but i think you can also go to urge.com and download the songs to your ipod, with out paying, just not to cd.

you put songs onto itunes and plug your ipod in....it's easy after a while : )
