Yeah, I wish I could work 16 hours a day, seven days a week in a restaurant or dry cleaner.

Your question is offensive because of the word "gringo" this only shows that you are not only ignorant but silly, or maybe you are trying to be funny, which you are not. The "gringo" came from Mexico during the Mexican American War. During the war the uniform of the American soldier was green and while the Americans march through their towns the people yell at them, Green go, green go, green go, and this is the way Americans came to be known as Gringos. Doesn't have to do with race, just being from the North. And about your question about Asians well, you are talking about the ones that are in the USA, legally, right, and who give them their jobs and who are they working for, what companies, so you see your question is out of place. Any body that have an education no matter where they come from, they get a good job in America, only in America. Have you being to Asia?

I am an african-american and at the University where I teach the asians clean the toilets and run the convenience stores in the area. Their children take my classes and have learned the work ethic they need to better their lives. Unfortunately, the african-american and hispanic communities haven't learned this.

They would rather sit at home and take entitlements, complain about how much work isn't worth the money and let everyone else pass them by.

Just the perspective from Detroit, maybe where you live someone else cleans the toilets.

This is why you feel hard done by, instead of rising above racism you lower yourself to it, you are no better than people who are always winging on about Hispanics and illegal immigration, I am white and I don't feel upset about any other race, anyone with an ounce of common sense will know that in reality if you can prove you are up to it and push yourself to achieve what want out of life then you can, and race or otherwise is not the barrier, your state of mind on the other hand is, Some whites will be thinking that but they are just as small minded as your comment above, empty your head of your pre-conceived ideas about what other races/people think about you and get on with it!!!

No. There are just all these pathetic wannabe colleges like ITT tech that are attended instead of real universities and moronic employers hire from them so they can pay less, then fire them at will as soon as they've been there long enough to earn a decent wage. Then they start the whole ridiculous process all over again.

Since when are you the voice for the "gringos"?

The term that you use to describe caucasians is offensive to say the least. To say that people from Asia are getting better jobs--well that is an over-generalization--and to respond to the previous answer that you received, there are high numbers of people from Asia who are here illegal as well.
