I have read a study that suggests there is all kinds of witchcraft and demons in cartoons. I don't remember there being such an issue about it when I was a kid. Scooby snacks made them go away....

Do you with hold cartoons from your kids, or now that you are grown do you think this is silly?

Yes I agree! I think we as parents are responsible for the input into our children.

Today we haveto be very careful. Not only what we give them but what we do and say. We are there role models.

The most harmful things on cartoon shows are the tons of commercials advertising fatty, sugar-filled snacks and sodas.

Also, I'd note that any "study" (and let's use that word loosely here) that seeks to find a correlation between witchcraft and cartoons is probably going to find that correlation, because, hey, why would you be looking otherwise? It's like these nutcase preachers who play records backwards looking for satanic messages. They always seem to find them. Well, hell, let's play the preacher's sermons backwards and see what they say. What I'm getting at is this. If you want to believe something exists, you'll probably find it. If you want to believe that Pokemon or Harry Potter or anything else is evil and tainting your children, you will probably find some shred of "evidence" that will convince you, contrary to all common sense.

Cartoons, on their face, are patently harmless. They only become harmful when we let our kids sit in front of the television for hours and don't make them go outside to get some fresh air and exercise.

Yes it is silly. Just as it is silly to point the finger at Harry Potter without pointing it at the Wizard of Oz, The Lord of the Rings,or The Chronicles of Narnia. It is a parent's job to raise their children, not mine. I will tend to the raising of mine.

Peace.

I think the People telling kids that cartoons, (or books) are evil are the ones creating spiritual problems. Not the other way around.

Well, I don't know about demons, but a good friend of mine's mother refused to allow him to watch The Flintstones as a boy because Fred was always either yelling at his wife, or lying to her.

You have to know some Truth befor you can Spot the Lies.
Church walls don't keep the devil out.
Keep Enlightening your Mind with the Word of GOD (Truth) and you will Spot more and more Lies (Error).

They told me the same thing about rock music...

I think the more you go looking for evil, the more you are apt to find.
