This manicure is at a spa, and it costs $45. For a regular manicure, I would normally tip $5. Because this manicure is more expensive, I'm not sure how much to tip.

Standard tipping etiquette is 15%.

When youre out at a restaurant, tipping a minimum of 15% is advisable. This is because servers make a serving wage of just about $2 in most states. However, when you get a manicure, especially at a nice spa, those people are making a nice hourly wage or salary. They get a percent of what your service costs plus an hourly wage. whatever you give that person in addition is generosity (although also sort of expected). $5 is plenty to give a manicurist for one service. Theyre not living off tips as restaurant servers are, therefore a 15-20% tip is a little much, unless you have that kind of money to throw around.
