Your local Goodwill store is a good place - they usually have some sort of program in place for community service hours. Also, some state Departments of Transportation have roadside cleanup programs for community service as well.

My son had to do some community service in our small town,police dept and emt or fire house always has cars to wash.Or nursing homes,many elderly dont have visitors and they are an excellent history lesson.

Extended health care units, reading to old people.
Therapeutic Riding associations, side walking or leading horses.
Elementary schools, reading to or being read to.
Spca, walking dogs.
If you take a friend with you it might be more fun?
