You get what you pay for but try to get one that identifies the beans used for instance Taste the Difference Columbian Coffee (sainsbury). To make ANY instant coffee taste better DO NOT boil the water it scalds it.

I like the clipper fairtrade coffee you can get from Tesco (blue label). It's got a pleasant taste, not too bitter, doesn't cost as much as carte noir which is too pretentious, and you're helping the poor farm type people abroad.

I like Folgers instant coffee, but maybe I'm just partial to Folgers cause I like their ground coffee as well.

Nescafe Taster's Choice is a good one, but Starbucks sells granulated coffee which the taste is pretty good too better than Nescafe's.
