Its benefits are obvious--gives you a big dose of protein in a shake with hopefully not to many calories. A lot of people don't eat enough protein and you need it to build muscle and keep your energy up. Also, protein in what fills you up--it makes you not feel so hungry inbetween your meals.

Go forward and purchase one that says "one hundred% whey protein" and investigate the nutrients tips to be certain what you're purchasing is correctly immediately Whey Isolate or Whey Concentrate (or if u are Mr Moneybags Hydrolyzed Whey) or a combination of them, and investigate that still to be certain there may be not anything like Alphaketoglutarate or Creatine Monohydrate and also you will have to be well to move. Shaman, that's dangerous recommendation. You say whey is dangerous to your kidneys, then say you're making an attempt so as to add protein in your nutrition. There has in no way been a unmarried research to mention that protein dietary supplements peculiarly would possibly purpose kidney harm, only a nutrition of top meat protein and no different meals brought on kidney harm in lab rats. And thus folks used that to assault the complement enterprise.

Protein shakes a merely additional protein. They aren't magical weight oss formulas and they certainly won't automatically build muscle.

If you feel your diet is lacking in protein or you need additional protein because of hard training and regular food is too hard to come by, then protein shakes make an ideal supplement. I use them before training as they are easy to digest and many articles on fitness recommend a whey protein shake before working out.

However, I don't live by them. There are days that I don't use them because I obtain enough protein in my diet.

Only you can decide if you need the protein. Generally if you are a hard training athlete and you have trouble obtaining protein on a regular basis, supplement with it. However, you can probably save money if you choose regular food (milk, fish, chicken, tofu, etc). Bottom line it is a matter of convenience and whether you can afford it.

Good luck.
