besides mattress, sheets, etc. do you know what i mean? like the body of the bed, the part you put the mattress on.

You usually only get a frame with the headboard if there is a footboard too. This would be a complete bed as opposed to a bed frame.

Usually stores will sell the mattress and boxsprings but you will have to buy the frame seperate. If you go to a good bed store, they should have all, including the headboard, but frame separate.

not necessarily. You can buy a head board separate and attach it to the bed later.

Side boards and foot board should come with a high-end head board, but if the ad doesn't specify it, look elsewhere.
