I can either get a purebred corgi just as a pet or I can buy a corgi to breed with another corgi. However it costs more, but I can sell the puppies and let the breeder that I bought from have her pick of which puppies she wants. I don't which one to do. I only have 8 weeks to decide.

You are much better off with a pet, with no strings attached..

Go with a pet Corgi, breeding is a lot of work and risks. Having a pet is much better than doing the breeding there are a lot of them already out there. You have a lot of work and money put into the breeding and will not come out on top. You have to consider the costs for all the vet trip when she is pregnant, the cost emotionally and money wise if something went wrong, and then the vet costs for the puppies. Trust me your are way better off with a loving pet.

Well, unless you are planning on showing and have a lot of money to get health clearances and foot the bill for the breeding, pregnancy, whelping, and puppy expenses....then get a pet.
Breeding is not a get rich quick business.

Just get a pet. If you go to a dog pound or rescue, most are full to the brim with unwanted dogs waiting to be taken. This proves that there are far too many dogs in this world for loving homes. I am a dog lover and my dog used to be a street dog in Sri Lanka, she survived the Tsunami. Until there are no dogs in kennels or pounds looking for homes, there will be no need to breed.

DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE.

There are enough breeders. Get a pet, have it spayed/neutered and take good care of it.
