Hahahahaha! You've more chance of getting blood out of a stone! And that's not helped if your tightar$e ex isn't playing ball...
My mate had to wait 10 years before any sort of payment came along...

The CSA is an absolute farce. My husband has a child from a previous relationship and he and his ex have learned the hard way that it's easier to have a private arrangement than to go through that crappy organization. Both my hubby and his ex have been given sleepless nights by their lack of organization. On our part, my hubby has been asked to pay far too much which meant we had to do some serious jiggling with our mortgage until it was sorted out. And on the part of his ex, she had her benefits completely stopped because they said she was being payed too much from my hubby for her to keep them, although he wasn't paying enough to pay her mortgage or for her to live on. She wanted to stay at home for the first few years to be a Mum - and why not? She's no scrounger.
The CSA are rubbish

If the dad is denying paternity you will get nothing until dna done if as you say they made a computor error keep on at them they will get fed up and process your claim quicker the other thing to think about is that if you are on benefits you might not be any better off as they will take the money off what you get in benefits if your not claiming keep on at them

Its all true... the Csa are a waste of space. Try your hardest to come to a agreement between yourselves. Even if your x does pay money to csa you or your child wont see that amount, its the biggest farce ever. Every parent whether your together or separated love your children unconditionally and if your x does then he wants so pull his finger from his bum, pull his wallet from his pocket and ensure his children are only getting the best.
Good luckx

I am in a similar position to you, I claimed 3 years ago and still have not received a penny.
The irony is that he took me to court over contact and claimed legal aid, yet I paid £5000 in solicitors fees.
Then felt aggrieved when I pointed out that that money could have gone on his son.
CSA are a complete waste of tax payers money!
