They are ignorant, and probably racist. I am waiting for the day when someone says something like that to my husband (a legal resident), and it is a very good reason why police should not be involved in immigration...what would stop them from pulling over my husband for driving, and insulting him, or pushing him face down on the ground while deciding if his greencard is real? Would you want that to happen to someone you love constantly? Just leave illegal immigrants alone, they are helping us more than they are hurting us!

I think it is because many are illegal in the small towns. If they can not speak English then they tag themselves right there for not trying to be part of this country. If they can not speak the language, a former requirement, then they should not be here for a residential reason.
If you are visiting a country and are a tourist, that is another thing.
Most of the Hispanics in my area that are here during harvest ARE ILLEGALS! We have to tell all AMERICAN (Hispanic decent too) that they are better off not talking with them. You can end up dead. It has happened in this area and all they do is run back to Mexico and get off!
Sorry but I hold no one above the law.

It's called stereotyping. Some people think that because a large percentage of illegal immigrants are Mexican, then all Mexican-Americans are illegal.

All Americans love Bush

All british eat stuff only a dog would eat
etc etc....

For the ones here legally in America, I welcome you but I STILL think you should display the American flag, not Mexico's, I STILL think you should learn the official language of your new country, I STILL think you should pay your fair share of taxes. There are many benefits of being a citizen of this country, along with that comes responsibilities.
