IMO it doesn't, as there's no proof for the existence or non-existence of god, all non-destructive viewpoints are equally valid

I'm not a big fan of fighting, but what's right or wrong matters a LOT. Does it matter that millions of people believe their own religion is the only right one and are willing to kill, or at least hate, anyone who disagrees? Yeah, it matters. To someone like me, who thinks ALL religions have gotten it wrong, it matters very much when the only world I have to live in is constantly at war about whose mythology is the right one.

It only matters to those who really think they're right. I personally don't think it matters who's right and who's wrong. I think that if it's right for you, it's right for you. I think that people have this need to prove they're right in order to validate themselves (i.e. I'm on the winning team!) and/or to reaffirm their faith when they are doubtful. If they had true faith, IMO, they wouldn't need to constantly try to prove they're right or continually say, "My religion is the right one." They're not trying to convince any of us at that point - just themselves.

what is right to you may be wrong for me and what is right to me may be wrong for you. therefore we all have free will to determine what we can do as long as we don't infringe upon the free will of others and as long as we abide by the laws rules and mores of the society in which one resides.

of course it matters! example: someone killing because they are extremely upset with someone. then they try to plea insanity. who would you side with? would your answer be any different if it was....say your mom? or maybe the person you are closet to in the world?
