I'm an anesthesiologist, and can tell you that the answer is absolutely NO.
I'm not aware of any "truth serum" that actually works. Hollywood might have you believing otherwise, but drugs such as sodium pentothal do not elicit truth. Sometimes, quite the opposite!
Most people wake up groggy, a little confused, and sometimes nauseated. A few patients wake up and cry, some laugh, some swear, some are combative.... but most are just sleepy.
One drug we use will make you forget things, so you may have a conversation with your surgeon and not remember any of it. But you won't divulge any secrets.
Hope that helps.

The answer is Yes. There are so many people answering it as no but the truth is both work on almost the same principle. Anesthesia numbs a part of your brain so that you don't feel the pain. Similarly the truth serum numbs a part of your brain which when active is on guard. When truth serum is injected that guard slips and you answer everything to the best of stored knowledge in your brain, your hiding capacity goes unless you are trained.
Similary when you are waking up from Anesthesia your mind is numb or mind guard inactive and tend to speak what you have in mind or what you are visualising at that perticular time.

In the 1950s, they tried some anaesthetic drugs like sodium thiopental as a "truth serum". It doesn't work. It's like when you are drunk - you might talk heaps but most of it is sh*t. If you are a quiet drunk, you will be quiet with the anaesthetic. Good luck!
