There is such a thing as sin.... Every human being sins. God is real and the bible is God's word. To the best of my ability here is what the bible says about sin and the penalty for sin.

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23

What this verse is saying is that everyone, the Pope, Billy Graham, you, me, every single person on the Earth has sinned. No matter how hard we have tried to do good we have failed (that is sinned in our lives) Even if we have tried our best to be a good person, we have still failed and sinned at times.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Romans 6:23

From this verse we see that as a result of our sin that we must all face death someday. But God gives us a "free gift" of enternal life if we trust in Jesus Christ our Lord. Without accepting that free gift of salvation we will go to hell.

"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

From this we see that Jesus Christ loves us sooo much that he went to the Cross and died for us. For a new Christian this is hard to fully understand, but Jesus became a sacrifice for our sins. Jeus is God's son. When Jesus went to the Cross he went there because he loves the human race and this was the only way for us all to have forgiveness for our sins. Jesus is eternal, just like God and the Holy Spirit. Jesus decided to come to Earth with the sole purpose of providing a "subtitutionary death" on the cross so that Mankind and Womankind would have a way to be in heaven someday with him. The way to be a true Christian and be "born again" Is believing that Jesus is the Son of God and he died on the Cross and rose again; and by trusting in Jesus alone for the forgiveness of our sins. The next verse explains that:

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeith unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" Romans 10: 9,10

God is Love, Jesus is Love, God and Jesus is completely without sin. That is why Jesus sacrifice on the Cross was acceptable.

I do not claim to know everything but here is my logic. The engineer who designed the VCR is the main authority of how it works and what it can and can not do. God through Jesus is the engineer, "so to be speak", of this world. Many people have many different oppinions but ultimately God's oppinion is what counts. We can learn what God's oppinion is by reading God's word the Bible, praying to Jesus, and fellowshipping with other true Christians.

True there are many different Church Congregations but as long as you would try out a "Bible Believing Church" you could "grow" in the Christian Faith. Please keep an open mind about taking that step.

Our family is Baptist, but my wife and I tried several Baptist Churches until we found one that we liked. The reason I feel comfortable with the Baptist faith is that, they try to study the Scripture and then base their belief on that. It goes back to the VCR analogy, the best way to understand everything about the VCR is to study the manual.

There are many other good church congregations, but you should stay away from any group that "denies" that Jesus Christ is God. The mormans and jehova witnesses do not believe that Jesus is God. That is why most Christian Congregations consider them a cult.

My friend, if you will pray to Jesus with an open and honest heart and ask Jesus to show you the truth and you truely believe and become a Christian, you can take that step by prayer to Jesus. You can do that and then pray to Jesus to lead you to a good Christian Church. Jesus is real and prayer is real and the Lord Jesus can lead you to take the steps you need to follow. Once you become "saved" then the Holy Spirit (part of the trinity) will dwell with in you and be your guide. God the father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirt are the trinity.

As a new Christian one of the best books to read is the Gospel of John, (the fourth book in the New Testiment) . The story of Nicodemas is recorded in this Gospel. Nicademas believed in God and late one evening decided to meet with Jesus. Jesus told Nicademas, "you must be born again" Jesus went on to explain to Nicademas what "being born again meant". Please read this my friend. For Jesus told Nicademas that the only way to heaven is by "Being Born Again"

The Baptists talk a lot of being "born again" but only because Jesus himself placed such an importance on it. Its a matter if one goes to heaven or not.

There is only one way to heaven and that is through faith in Jesus and being born again.... The scriptures above show that trying to be good will not solve the problem that we have still sinned no matter how good we try to be. The only way to solve the problem of sin in our lives is if we have become "Born again" just as Jesus spoke to Nicodemas about. The sciptures in Romans will lead one on the path to become born again.....

I hope this helps.

God Bless you

The penalty for sin is spiritual death or to be separated from God our creator
This is a great penalty for it will last for eternity but
on the other hand the rewards for a righteous life is to live forever with God.

all were born in sin. sin is not loving your neighbor, sin is looking at men/women with lust in our heart. Reading the bible tells you there is alot more to being sinful than just the ten commandments. you are probably being sinful and you don't even know it. I suggest to everyone who may be interested in learning of God's law regarding sin and the sinful nature to sit down with a cup of tea and seriously read the whole book of Romans and you will learn alot of God's law and what you need to do to live a spirtual life even if you don't believe it is good to just know how to live in harmony with other people. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is he road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it. You don't have to be a fire breathing christian to use the bible in your everyday life Remember you will be judged by your works in life and you won't get to heaven because you are a nice person. You can only get to heaven by saying with your mouth and believing in your heart that Jesus was your savior and died for your sins and you must believe in the Father through Jesus Christ. You are given free will by God to do as you choose. If you choose not to believe that is okay too, but in the last days you are given the opportunity to believe for once and for all and you will be forgiven. For all those who think it's a fairy tale well everyone needs something to hold on to to keep sane in an insane world and if you take that hope away then you will be judged for your works and may God have mercy on your soul.

God warns us of sin because the wages of sin are death. Death meaning the death of your dreams, the life you envisioned for yourself and the one he meant for you. All the sins God speaks of in the bible have an impact on our daily lives. He wants the best for us so he has given us a guideline for life. Yes, we will be judged one day for all the things we have done and not repented for but what we do today while we are on earth developes our life. Every choice we make has a consequence. If we abide by the principles of the bible then the consequences are good, if we choose a life of sin the consequences are bad.

Hell is the penalty for sins, yet God should not be there in Hell with a individual-he would be in Heaven with people who have self belief. everybody sins-human beings bypass to hell for not accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as their very own Savior. Hell is the penalty of not believing in God, and in case you do not have self belief in Him, then you definately've an afterlife without Him, that's Hell.

Since the Lord died for our sins, our "penalty" for sinning is that He will be seperated from us, but He also reveals our sin to us so that we may repent of it and be free of it.

on earth man lives according to his own will, but once he dies,(according to the bible)if he has lead a good life he goes to a place called heaven and lives with the angels and god for eternity, if on the orher hand he has commited sin, venial sins, his soul is sent to purgatory, where it atones for his sin, and after a while it goes to heaven for eternity, lastly, if one has led a sinful life and commited sacreligious sins, the soul is sent to hell where the fallen angels, who rebelled against god dwell, here the soul will yearn to be with the god, and this yearning is like a burning fire, and is condemed for all time to come,
this can be found in the bible, if you want to know more you can easily read the bible

...Death
...Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death...
...Ezekiel 18:20 - The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

There is no such thing as "sin".

There is no God, so there is no God's penalty.

Putting it in other words, there is no non-existant being's rule and judgement for behavior that doesn't exist.
