the main function of the dog's eyes is to notice minimal movement, especially in dim light, & then to concentrate on it intently.
lateral vision is more important than color, hence their angle of vision is wider (250- 290 degree).human's eye view is 210 degree.
dogs can distinguish between yellow & blue, but they see prodominantly in shades of grey.

good question i had a jack russell 4 14 years and was told by a vet they dont see colour like us but they see eveythink in black and white ,they rely more on there senses and there hearing is supposed to be 100 times better ,i can recall numorus times when my dog would bark mintues b4 our door was knocked on i hope this helps you all the best.

i seen a dog trained out of 6 different colored balls pick the right colored ball that his owner told him to pick,so i think they can see all colors,but if u want to know for sure ask a vet cause were all guessing here!

I have always heard that dogs are color blind, but can see different hues of black, white, and grey.

They're red-green color blind, which means they can't tell the difference between reds and greens. They otherwise see the normal spectrum.

definitely green as our dog ran straight down my mums garden into the canal and he didn't like water so he must have thought the green pond weed on the canal was grass.
