It's normal and smart (saves money), although in the short term *shallow* people may think less of you... in the long run you are better off

It is a good thing to live with your parents when you are 18 and to go to community college. Community College is a good place to go to help you decide what you want to major in or to offset costs for your first two years and prepare to transfer to a University. Even though you are 18 and probably think of yourself as all grown up you are really just a little over 20% into your life. Going to College is good and living at home so that you can focus on school rather than paying bills is smart. If anyone is telling you different then maybe you should consider why they would say that. Are they jealous? Do they have all the answers and do they have the life you want?

It's pathetic to rush into the job market, move out on your own, get yourself in debt and then realize that you will almost always make less than someone with a degree and that a lot of jobs will be unavailable to you and have to move back home when you are 40 to "find yourself" because you spent your younger days working and paying bills when you should have been in school with your peers. But then I guess doing it at 40 is better than at 50.

Hey i'm eighteen, live with my parents and go to community college. I would hardly consider myself pathetic. Once i finish my associates and or bachelors i'm outta here. As long as my parents feed me and pay the bills i'm not complaining tho :) Past 20 then yeah i think you're pushing it a little tho lol

It is perfectly normal. I know a girl who's 24 and still lives with her parents so that she can work and pay for school and not have to worry about bills. I mean it would be nice if you could help them out but if you can't and they are ok with that then do your thing girl.

Most do live with their parents while going to school. That is the only way they can afford to go to school in most cases. It is normal and wise

If your parents are cool with it it's ok. Nice to see good loving parent child relationships going on.

It is beneficial to your parents. If you are a full-time student, they can still claim you as a dependent on their income tax.
