Yes. There are two belief systems: Revelation and Science.

Revelation (reveal knowledge) is simple for the Christians; it is God's word as spoken through the prophets documented in the bible.

Then there is science, man observations: Theories that explains facts using the scientific method.

Simply put, God reveals, man observes.

Example: Let's take the rock that God can made but can not lift. If God can not make the rock or can not lift the rock, God is not all powerful. But that bring us to creation and the mechanics of moving something up (relatively speak).

The is nothing said in the bible of God creating something he can't lift. This may be some limitation on God, but it is not revealed to us via bible.

Now let look at the scientific method regarding this question. Now we are in trouble because there are no fact about God. In the scientific method, a fact is an observation by men (note plural) independent of location. The means we can not even answer the question whether God existence or does not exist.

Guest what: The bible never proves God existence, it is assumed.

We have many things that the bible does not discuss. For example, pink elephants. From the movie Bambi, we get a colorful illustration of pink elephants? Well we know what an elephant is, we have observed it and classified it. And so far, we have not observed an elephant that is pink? Does that mean that pink elephants exist? The scientific answer is that is unlikely since we haven't seen one yet. If we do, we will change our theory about elephant?

By why can we do the same for God. Simple, God existed before and created all we can observe. We can only observe what is observable. Does this means God exist?

Back to the two belief systems: If we believe in the revelation that the bible presents, it is assumed. We either believe it or not. If we belief in our ability to observe, then science does not help us with this question.

One last point, the bible is tool for believers; it is not a conversion manual. It is a religious (way of life) book the presents a message of the hope for eternal life, the Christian message. It is an Eastern book difficult to read; however, it does interprets itself and to my knowledge it has no contradiction but a lot of misunderstandings.

To answer your question: Yes Christians live in an observable world and yes there are scientific theories support by facts. You may dispute the theories, but you can not dispute the facts. Anyone can not belief the theories, but based on the scientific method, they would have to explain the facts. For example, Creationism is not science; it is belief.

The bible is not a scientific book nor is science about revelation. In the end, it is what you believe that matters, not what Christians believe or how they act.

I hope this answers your question.

Well, their argument seems to be that if science demonstrates or proves something that's in the bible, they say, well, you ditn't need all that research, we already knew it because it's in the bible. If however, science disproves something in the bible, they try to argue that science must be wrong or invalid.

The fact seems to be that they can't tell the difference between fact and fantasy.

BtW, science only uses theories as a first step. If the theory can be broken, then it's obviously wrong and should be discarded. Eventually, the theory is tested and modified until once definitively proven, becomes a LAW. Until then, of course it changes as we find out more about it. Xtianity just makes up "laws" and doesn't care whether they're right or wrong. All believers are asked to do is accept them without question - something only the most worthless intellects would do.

Of course they do! Some more zealous ones might like to use the bible as an excuse for believing in some antiquated views, but there are many variations of Christians, the majority of which are perfectly peace loving worthwhile individuals.

The Catholic Denominations do. They believe that Mary is a way to get to Christ but the Bible says ONLY Jesus can answer your prayers. I wonder how Catholics came up with that resolve? Not to be rude or anything.

there are those who do as there are some who " think outside the box " incorporating the best ideas of " non - traditional Christian along with non - Christian belief systems " into ones own combination of personalized Christian Ancient Way religious belief systems which may work for each individual and not an entire group.

Ummmmm.....yea? No, really. The bible explains our relationship to and with God. But we have science to show us how things relate to us or other things. Some science is bunk. How many times have they changed a theory or 'fact'.... but, we can see the universe and molecules, working together in some strange ways. And, for a kick, read The Big bang never really happened. A lot about religion and how it and science got along.

That's kind of a broad question, but I believe that the Bible is th eonly absolute truth, everything else I belive in must fit in with the Bible.

There is nothing for me outside the bible. I know, because I was once living on the outside of God and His laws. I found my place with the Lord thorugh salvation by accepting Jesus as my savior. Praise the Lord!!
