"Shot" is a relative term. Some restaurants use 1 1/4 ounce jiggers to measure a shot. Some use 1 1/2, and some use 1 3/4. Some even use only 1 oz. Assuming you're in the U.S. where ounce measurements are more common.

There are 33.8 oz in a 1 liter bottle of liquor, which is the standard size for most liquor bottles, though some companies still offer "fifths", which are one-fifth of a gallon, or 25.6 oz. 750ml is more popular for wine bottles, though some liquors are bottled in this size. In a 750ml bottle, there are 25.35 oz.

To figure how many shots are in a bottle, just divide the total volume of the bottle by the size jigger you use to pour.

25.35 ounces, divided by a 1.5 oz pour = 16.9 pours

If you are asking for pricing purposes for a restaurant, I would suggest adding in a 5% waste factor on all products before costing out for pricing purposes. To do this, simple reduce your bottle volume to 95% of it's original content before calculation shots.

25.35 x 95% (.95) = 24.0825 oz yield per bottle
24.08 / 1.5 = 16.05 shots, or 16 shots

Adding in the 5% waste on all food or beverage products allows you a cushion so you can budget to overachieve in your business. Conservative budgeting and pricing based on conservative recipes are a key to success in the restaurant/bar business.
