We are already free to worship whatever we choose. I happen to be a Christian and believe that God will allow us to do as we please, but we must be prepared to accept any penalties if we do the wrong things. The New Testament writers predicted that people who have "itching ears" will seek out teachers to tell them what they want to hear. Try going to: www.biblegateway.com and search for the passage "itching ears". In the past, people have worshipped stones, animals, hand-made idols, trees and ancestors. They were able to find teachers who encouraged their belief.

Sure, why not? If it brings a person comfort and happiness, they should do what they want - so long as they don't force it on anyone else. I really don't care about anyone else's relationship with the God of their understanding. Maybe that's selfish of me, but it's really none of my business. That's between them and their God(s) / FictionalCharacters / Themselves.

Sure. That's why God made you with "free will". But He wants you to worship Him, rather than something of your imagination. And that is why He wants us to warn you of the consequences of your actions of "freewill". -- your fictional character of choice won't SAVE you.

why not? isn't this what free will and freedom of worship is all about. after all GOD is to big to be in only one place and there are numerous paths to arrive at the same destination.
