I grow weary of the inane drivel, VANESSA! Would you like to see my c.i.b? Contact the B.I.A. and request a copy of it, be sure to send $10.00 AMERICAN currency or a money order to defray the cost of printing of the document in english. Silly woman.

You know that in about 100 years or maybe less, just think of this: The Bolivar dream finally becomes true and latin America finally joins as one single organized federated union, you know what will be his name? let me tell you: Union Americana, just like the EU did. Who will be the ones to call themselves Americans then?
Of course, this is at this moment just fiction, but it brings me to my next point:
I can't grow tired of saying that America is a continent and not a country, that when the pilgrims arrived and England took North America, the hole continent already had that name, and this name American was already used by people to refer to themselves just as it still does occur in latin America in general. For isnatnce the two most important sport tournaments on a continental scale are both called "copa America" and "Libertadores de America" plainly without the "latin" aded to it.

so, obviously, the first settlers here did not name this land. When they became independent of England, they naed the country as we now know is named: to stress that the States that were being United were in America and not in Europe. They called themselves "american" with right to do it just like somebody from Buenos Aires could have done too. The problem now is that this toponimic has been appropiated to mean exclusively those from the USA, excluding all the rest. This, and this i repeat is the crux of the question.

True Americans? Well. that depends entirely on where you are and when you arrived too, I think. If you say that only the Indians are entitled to this land by blood, then Mexicans and Latins have more force of claim, since they carry more and original Indian blood (Aztec, Maya, Quechua, Inca, Yaqui, raramuri, etc). they are descendants of the original cultures that owned this land, when our other ancestors came from Europe to conquer our indian part. From that point of view, since we all carry a percentage of indian blood, we can say that we were here before, no? Who is American? True indians don't call themselves that certainly. True maya and Zapotecs and Nahuatl and so forth

I believe the majority of the tax paying LEGAL citizens of the US are tired to the illegal immigration situation. It is time to start the “plugging of the hole” and stop the increasing amount of illegal immigrants coming into this country. Everyday citizens are actively reporting illegal immigrants as they learn of them. Not enough citizens are involved yet, but the number is growing daily. It has always been hard to get the government off their backsides and put the plans into motion, but “we the people” just have to continue to put pressure on them, remind them (elected officials) that we are serious about this matter and don’t let them slack off (we don’t want a repeat of the 80’s). Personally I am for strong military support at the borders. That is why we have military, to keep the US, the citizens of the US and our way of life safe.

Wow this country is rightfully ours and its not our fault some guy from a thousand years ago kicked your people out, too bad they don't kick you alone out. You are such a dumbassdouchebag its not even funny. I hate people like you that think just because people forced you out or forced you here makes you special. You have no life and no friends, you are just looking for a way out of your miserable life to insult America on here. I hope the rest of your life is miserable, and I hope the normal people, who are defending our country, which is rightfully ours get paid or something because they're not ignorant morons such as, lets see, yourself.

You like to sound smart, dont ya? I know that feeling, so are all the other dumbasses answering this who are agreeing with you, I would like to thank everyone else who either pities you, or is insulting and laughing at your incoherent question.
Thank you to Vannessa C, John R, and Elli, for they are smart and I agree with them and they're normal, unlike you.

I don't have to march in the street and destroy another country's flag to prove my point.I have something stronger than that.I hold the power of the American voter in my hand. And that vote along with all the others that defend our way of life will speak louder than any handful of illegal descenders.disturbing the peace and disrespecting the very country that they demand rights into.
No I don't need to rally and scream,my money and my vote are behind the candidates that have the strongest stand against illegal immigration. That ,is my power as an American.

Illegal aliens would love for all of you to enter Mexico and see how bad the conditions are there
only then would you understand why they come here looking for jobs.
Its not that their trying to steal America from Americans
they just want to live a good life too and unfortunately Canada is too far
they dont have much of a choice now do they
and thats why they end up here in the US.

Not only is it too late to stop illegals from coming over here
but the US government realizes that they need em
that's the reason the US wont kick them all out or go overboard on trying to stop them.
This wall that they are building is only being placed there to make it look like something is being done and for all of you cry babies to shut up.
Lets face it, a wall will not stop them they will only find alternative routes
when you re trying to survive you will find a way.
Some of you think its like recreation for illegals or something
like they just risk their lives to come here for the fun of it
Hello !
these people are starving.
Allot of you wouldn't understand though because you were lucky to be born in good ol USA.

America is safely on the hands of Americans, always has been.

However I have a hunch that you are talking about the United States, the US is not America. You see, America is not a nation America is a continent with many nations in it. The US never named itself the name of the United States is a designation it comes from the end of the Declaration of Independence, "WE, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in GENERAL CONGRESS, Assembled...". The preamble to the U.S. Constitution reiterated the phrase: "We the People of the United States..." (The authors of these two documents probably used the phrase "united states" in place of a list of colonies/states because they remained uncertain at the time of drafting which colonies/states would sign off on the sentiments therein.) The geographic term "America" specifies the states' home on the American continent.

It is therefor incorrect to refer to US citizens as Americans with the intent of denoting citizenship, or the United States as America with the intent of denoting a nation. Americans have a term for US citizens, we are called United Statesians by the rest of Americans, to say American with the intent of denoting citizenship or America when we mean the United States reflects poorly on our attitude towards the 70% of Americans that are not United Statesians.

You're right. America SHOULD be returned to the true Americans. It's about time they stopped living on Reservations and be allowed to expand to every corner of the country.Send everybody back to Europe or back to wherever they came from.
