I personally don't have either a great dane or chihuahuas, but I have two different friends who have a mixture of both and say they get along fabulously. And they do! kind of hilarious to watch them play together. Putting two adult dogs together immediately might cause some problems. But if you have one, and get the other as a pup, I don't really think you'd have much problems with them getting along. I myself am going through something like this only I have an adult labrador, and just got two Belgian Shepard puppies. So in my opinion, it's easier on both dogs and owner to introduce a puppy into the household no matter what the breed that way they establish pack order with little difficulty and less "grumbling" and fights.
Hope that helps

I'm sure the Great Dane finds the Chihuahua quite delicious.

I've got 13 dogs and two are Chihuahuas. Chance gets along with everyone but Owen doesn't. It really depends on the dogs. Owen thinks he's ten times bigger than he is and when he goes after the biggest dog in the house...that dog just ignores him.

Well i think that if they where brought up together they would be fine but chihauhuas are quite small compared to great danes.

If you are considering getting either dog only after you have one already dont think it would be a good idea though, cause smaller animals tend to become scared and fragile and look for attention when they are afraid, but its your decision at the end of the day..

I have a siberian husky and he cant get along with any other animal but siberian huskys so we know that because we took him for classes and he loves to play and be known so he only gets along with his own kind cause no two dogs and breed are the same..

lets hope neither one dislikes the other...the poor chihuahua would not have a chance...the only great dane i ever saw was blind but beautiful...but she loved to jump on everything and everyone...might hurt the little chihuahua....i love chihuahuas though...even the real barky kind...can do without that at times but they let you know when someone is there....

i have a chihuahua and he gets a little upset when the other dog comes around but hes spoiled. if the two dogs are not mean to other dogs then they should be fine. it might take a while for them to get used to each other but it should work out.

It depends on the dogs personalities.
Try aproaching while on leashes but do not come close if one starts to growl.
