some dude just knoced on the door... and beacuse of my stupid barking dog...i had to open it.. so he gave me a booklet...can i shread it and not go to hell? (not trying to be racist or anything...just dont wanna have to deal with someone changing my religion..)

You shoud'nt have taken the literature if you did'nt want it. Anyway we are not here to change your religion that's a decision that you must make.
When Jesus sent out his disciples to preach, he told them to go to every part of the earth, so they would meet many people whose religion was different from theirs. (See Acts 1:8) But he knew that those hungering and thirsting for righteousness would listen. Think, what is the particular message that he said would be delivered in our day? See Matthew 24:14 and here is what that scripture says and I quote:
" And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."
Now are you carrying out that message so that others will be saved. You can't do it if your sitting at home doing nonthing.

Wait I'm not putting you down.
But you don't know how to spell. Jehovah's Witness
The JW's are on their mission. You should Thank them as a Catholic of their physical effort to spread God's word.
Like any book destroy it If you wish. But there are words of wisdom in there and not in conflict with our Catholic faith.
Ask your self again can a fellow man change your religion?
You might study the other religions for information. When did they start and why. There is enough information with that to simply say when did God start.
PS: you go to hell for evil not eliminating litter.
You go to hell for being a bigot with no reason and disrespecting people of kind intentions for your fear or lack of conviction.
Remember not only the JW's but the Mormons also set special time for their church to do missionary work. An example the Catholic church never developed "fellowship".
I am a non practicing Catholic, who is disgusted with the CHURCH only.

You may be catholic but you definately are not a christian didnt jesus say the way to tell a Christian is by the love they have among one another also 1st John 4:20,21 tells us something important read it please also I have many people who come to my door and because I am a Christian I talk politely and nicely to them all even if i dont agree with them I have had mormons coome to my door i talked to them I have has 1or 2 baptists and many of Jehovahs Witnesses come to my door and as always i was nice and polite to them we discussed many points back and forth they know the Bible very well and most of their children know the Bible better than most adults in various churches any way the boss where I worked tries to hire them when ever a vacancy comes up as they are the most Honest Loyal hard working people you would ever meet always nice and polite and they try and immitate esus example in going from house to house as Jesus told his followers to do and I always tell them I admire them for doing so very few others will do so they are Real Christians as a Christian is a follower of Jesus in deed and word so if you rip up something it is your loss you never know what God may be trying to tell you look at what happened in Noahs day people didnt like him and he was trying to save their lives and we all know the results they perished in their ignorance and pride and outright biggotry they had no one to blame but them selves they couldnt say they werent warned could the same thing be going to happen again only not by flood this time ? something to think about next time they show up Gorbalizer

There are some very nice JWs out there but- only 144k are going to heaven- so they are competing w each other- it is quite a mess- the literature is full of scripture= but does not represent them very well- so= tear it up= repentence and receiving Jesus Christ as your personal saviour will get you into heaven- he paid the price- Thank God= D

It seems to me that we fear that which we do not understand.
I am not a Jehovah's witness but I believe that they have the right to express themselves.
I get free newspapers into my home ,
Do I tear them in half no! why tear other peoples faith material up
Will you go to hell for that , well if you have done nothing else wrong in your life apart from that I doubt it.

Just throw it away. I am against these sects, but I am also against tearing books, even when what they write is wrong. Freedom of expression is important, so tearing a book looks ugly to me. Nothing to do with heaven and hell.

orthodox christians have always rightly maintaited Jesus was fully God made fully (and unfallen) man
Jesus said in John 2
"tear down this temple and in 3 days I will raise it again"
he was man ehough to die
he was God enough to raise himself from the dead
but JWs will wrongly claim Jesus was a created super angel and not God made man... emmanuel GOD WITH US!!!
yet Jesus was exactly that God with us
in Jude the archangel would not dare to rebuke satan, yet Jesus said the equivolent of "beat it Satan!!!" in The Message literary paraphrase of MAtthew 4... and the translator is well known of that and alost every otehr translation and their strengths and weaknesses freely discussed and not hidden as the JW do because the translaters were unqualified

what would tearing the book accomplish? Perhaps it will increase your understanding and tolerance if you read it? I know in Islam that we are supposed to respect everyone's Holy Book even if we don't believe it for the sake of respect. Im sure the same is in Catholicism right?
