my hair is naturally brown, but i've been dying it blue/black since april. i'm starting to get really tired of the color though, but i dont want to go back to brown. i really want to get red highlights, but i dont think my work would approve. now i'm considering bleaching my hair, but i'm really unsure about it. i think it will turn out looking funny. i've seen people who bleached their hair and it turned out orange looking, and others who bleached their hair and it turned out almost white? does it make a difference what brand you buy?

Get it professionally done!

I would never try to do something like that on my hair myself. I wouldn't risk it.

People have orange highlights because they didnt leave in the peroxide or whatever on very long. White happens when you leave the dye in for a verrry long time. When your trying to get a specific shade, its very hard because different people's hair will change color at different rates. Two people with black hair could get highlight dye left in their hair for the same amount of time and on one of the people it might look white, and the other person's hair could have barely changed.

well if u go to a hairdresser, they'll know what brand is good to use. But from personal experience, bleaching can damage ur hair. But if ur hair grows back fast, then u can try bleaching it....it depends on how long u leave the bleach on ur hair. If u leave it on for too long, it becomes really light.

find a good pro and have them do it bleaching dark hair regardless if it's natural or dyed will always have an orange hue to it. Have it done profesioanlly otherwise you might regret it.

I would keep my hair dark if I were you. I like darker hair colors in the fall. They look the most natural.

Have it down by a professional, who will not only give you the best advice, but should be willing to fix it if things don't turn out right.
