You could try a cyder beer.

there are a lot of microbreweries that make them. Apple and Cherry are the most popular.
They are mostly seasonal though - like now, you could get a pumpkin beer.

They are quite tasty and always a good choice.

But it might not just be the beer. Try drinking your beer out of a chilled mug or an ice cold bottle. You would be surprised on how much the temperature can influence the taste.

Also, there is nothing wrong with experimenting with beers. Go to a pub that has a really good beer selection and try a few. Sometime it just takes a while to find a beer you like. Some beers taste different for different people as well. So, while you think one tastes bitter, another person might think its the smoothest beer on the planet.

Where the beer comes from has a lot to do with the taste too. American beers tend to be the most watter-ed down and have the least flavor. Mexican beers tend to be very smooth but can have a skunked tasted to them. Canadian beers tend to be the all around beer - being full bodied and tasty and having a clean after taste.

Its all about personal opinion.....

Don't listen to the guy who said Steel Reserve. That stuff is seriously disgusting. Part of what you have to realize is that beer in general is bitter. Some more than others, but to make beer you use hops to add bitterness and aroma. I also suggest a wheat beer. Something along the lines of a Blue Moon or a Goose Island 312. Wheat beers are typically light summer beers with moderately low amounts of alcohol. I also think you should try Rolling Rock and Michelob Lager.

Try drinking a glass or two of the darkest or the hoppiest beer you can find. Then, the next glass of regular beer will taste much less bitter to you.

in the U.S.A. "beer" is an all encompassing word. If you go to Germany , you will learn that you just don't order a beer, you order either a Bier, or a Lager, or an Ale ,or Pilsner. There are probably more than i am aware of so do a little research. go to a larger liquor store, and ask the proprietor.

Mix your beer with sprite! (3/4 beer to 1/4 sprite)
In Germany we call that a "Radler" and it's delicious and thirst-quenching. It definetely takes the bitterness out.

If you don't really like beer, don't drink it. Beer makes people stupid anyway.
