They shed like all other cats....it is a color not a breed.
They can be long,medium, or short haired.

Calico is a colour, or rather a mixture of colours. And all cats shed hairs, however grooming does cut down on the amount of hairs that they shed, but you must keep this up EVERY DAY.
Long haired cats need lots of grooming and can get quite matted coats if not groomed for a long time every day, so short haired cats are easier to look after and tend to shed slightly less.
Calico being a colour is also sex linked and they are all female, as are tortoiseshells.

Calico is a color pattern, not a coat type. Any cat except a rex or a sphinx is going to shed. You may be able to manage the shedding if you brush them, and give them regular baths, but they all shed. That includes all colors!

well I have a calico cat and she doesn't shed at all. I guess that she is a short hair cat that why

calico cats shed just as much as any other cat with hair. if you are worried about shedding-I would check into the rex breeds. good luck.

i have a calico meadium hair and it sheds a lot but you cant see that must and it doesnt bother me. There cats it what they do. If you dont like sheding than dont get a cat.

i have a calico cat and she lets me give her baths and all...and she has not been shedding at all....she can get on a person but she leaves no hair anywhere....her name is mittens and she is beautiful....so i do not believe they do very much if at all....

very long hair is nice but requires servicing and u have to grow it out for a long time

It's all just a matter of personal preference. I have short hair and guys such as it. And i prefer a guy with short hair over a person with long hair because long tresses tends to make guys look also girly.
