Forget it. I've been around cats for 36 years.
Your cat quit eating and drinking because that's what cats do when it's time to die.
Your cat will likely not last another 18-24 hours, based on what you have told me.
She appears to have suffered a stroke--I know, because I've had this happen. She may also have eaten a poisoned rat--I've also had this happen.
If you took your cat to the vet, he would just put her to sleep.

look for a different vet. There are also a lot of emergency clinics open on the weekends. Just scroll through the phone book. Ask a friend if they know any vets. Your cat is probably not in a coma if she is conscious. She might have had a stroke. Try to keep her as comfortable as possible and keep watching her. Don't let her get into anything dangerous. If she is old then i might just be her time. Good luck!

Sweetie, Even though the vet may be higher on weekends, I agree you should call and explain the situation. If she is walking funny, that is certainly not a good sign - it indicates some kind of neurological damage. The fact that she is not eating or drinking is serious too.

I agree with others that you might ask your parents if they would ignore a medical emergency with you; or themselves. Even if you had to put her to sleep, at least you would know you'd done the right thing.

It is heartbreaking to see what you are going through. I'd beg them and get a job babysitting or cutting lawns & help to repay the vet.

Good luck to you and your kitty!

Well, I think a life (even if it's an animal) is way more important than a bill. Just explain that to your parents and ask them if you were dying if they would take you to the hospital if the prices were really high. Good luck with your cat. I hope she is ok. :(

oh well I'm 12 too and have 2 cats and both are near and dear to me.but my older cat seems to be comin to the end of the line. all u can do is give her plenty of love and attention and then if at all possible take the smallest amount of pain killer or even Tylenol and if ur someone u know is diabetic or needs to give themself a shot then i recommend the capsules that break so easily and that should help her then u care fully pour a little pit of the Tylenol in water and suck it into the syringe and inject it to her and that will help take away the pain

CALL THE VET ANYWAY, EXPLAIN THE SITUATION AND BEG FOR A REPRIEVE ON SOME OF THE PRICE OR IF YOU'RE OLD ENOUGH, GET A JOB AND TELL YOUR PARENTS YOU'LL PAY THEM BACK IF THEY COULD JUST PUT IT ON A CREDIT CARD.

Put her to sleep and get a new one; it's better than having her live in pain.
