what else do you know about the patient?
if it is you, go to the doc. How did you diagnose the enlarged spleen.???!?
Mono could give you a spleen 2-3 times its normal size.
Leukemia could cause these symptoms.
HIV is also likely a starting place.
In any case, Mono and HIV are contagious. See the Doctor and get some real advice. If you can't afford it , go to the public health clinic, or call the local hospital or the college health clinic and ask to talk with a public health nurse.

I'm an RN and it does sound like a bad case of Mono to me however I would either call this patient's regular doctor and tell him/her the symptoms and/or take him/her to the ER. If this patient is a male...an enlarged spleen is not good.

Obviously its an infiltration by either a fungii or bacteria. SEE A DOCTOR!!! Spleens don't enlarge on their own with a reason.
