I've been told repeatedly that President Bush and Vice President Cheney are not Christians, although they have publicly stated that they are indeed Christian. But assuming they fail to measure up as examples of the Christian life, what public figure best exemplifies your perception of a Good Christian. ("By their works, you will know them.")

OOOooohhh!!!, someone's going to hate me for this, but I remember a certain peanut farmer who always seemed like a pretty nice guy. His honest simplicity made him less than a great leader of men, but his simple down-to-earth heart is as close to what I'd consider an ideal for Christians. Took a lot of flack, too, for honestly admitting having lusted for women. I guess the world can't handle such honesty in their leaders. He still speaks his mind and is still called a fool, despite critcism, and spends his retirement building low cost housing instead of spending it all on the golf course.

So many of the people that are thought of as touting non-Christian messages so often seem to have more love and compassion for all persons of the world than those who claim to be Christians. So many talk of laws and regulation and the right moral politics that there's no time left for the people of the world suffering from wars, poverty, famines, oppression. People like the Dalai Lama and Oprah never spouted Christianity, but they seem to have insight into the worlds here-and-now bread-and-butter real needs and issues better than most who do.

When ever somebody tells me that they are a Christian---I will never know for sure untill I Try the Spirits.
I haven't Tried the Spirits with the President, but I give Everyone the Benefit of the Doubt untill I find out for Sure (if I want to that is).
Jesus was a Public Figure.
I say Jesus.

When a person says they are a Christian and yet compromises the principles of Christianity, then they are not a Christian. Billy Graham and the president have both compromised the Christian foundation of truth. Dali lamma is about as Christian as a goat in a hail storm.

Anyone who says George Bush should be publicly flogged, then drawn and quartered prior to being hung by their testicles.

If a good Christian is someone who follows the teachings and life of Jesus Christ, that leaves out the possibilty of anyone from any other faith being considered and there are a lot of good people out there who have other faiths.

As a result, this question is flawed and biased in favor of only those who are "Christians."

Billy Ghram by far, but many people don't listen to him. Oprah hasn't stated "I'm a Christian", but she acknowledges God more than anyone. She refrences the divine many times in her shows and on her dvd. Plus, she donates so much time and money to the poverty-stricken in Africa.
