When I saw this 720p HDTV on the showroom it was great but when I got it home I was shocked.
The picture quality when playing DVDs was better on my old 29" TV.. much better. When I split the screen into tow screen the picture would look good but when in full screen mode it's bad. Now, why it looked so good in showroom? Dose DVD player play a big role here, I mean my DVD player isn't that old (2 years), and it's Philips with progressive scan. So.. Is my HDTV has a malfunction?

try this: use component cables for video(red, blue, green),instead of the yellow one. keep the red and white for sound.also, when watching dvd,use 16:9,or widescreen format on your tv(picture menu),and on your dvd player menu, also set to 16:9(or widescreen.this is more than likely the way the store set it up,and probably the best way for you to do it.

I agree; you must be using composite (yellow plug) for video. Even s-video is not good enough for HDTV. The higher resolution of your new TV exposes all the defects (noise, softness) of a poor signal. Use component cables, and make sure your DVD player is set up to output progressive scan.
