you already know the answer to this.. yes you are

Bulimia is about controlling you appearance or simply taking control over something (in this case, purging)

you say you dont feel the need to do it, butif you stop, im sure that the guilt of eating and not having control over it would torment you.

Have you considered the damage you are doing to your body by denying it a balanced diet?

Repeated exposure to the acid in vomit demineralizes teeth. Your teeth may become sensitive to heat, cold, and acids. Eventually, your teeth may severely decay, erode away from fillings, and finally fall out.

Your blood potassium levels can drop significantly with regular vomiting or use of certain diuretics. This can disturb your heart's rhythm and even produce sudden death. Salivary glands may swell because of infection and irritation from the vomit. You may at some point suffer from stomach ulcers and bleeding and tears in your esophagus. Constipation may result from frequent laxative use. When bulimic episodes occur over time, a sequence of chronic illnesses can occur affecting your heart, liver, gastrointestinal tract, and/or neurologic complications.

Basically, the damage to your teeth is irreparable. Your swollen glands will go down once you stop the cycle of bingeing and purging. Some of the longer term effects, which it sounds like haven't reached you yet, are life-threatening and irreversible.

You should seek help for this

That's what the term Bulimic means. You make yourself through up so you don't gain weight and if you do it once there's a good chance you'll do it again. I suffered from it for yrs. on and off. I told myself just this one time next thing i knew it was everyday. I finally have my life under controll but it was one of the hardest things i've ever been through. If you want to keep your weight under controll change your life style if you were eating healthy and exercising about 30 min a day your weight would be under controll with out making yourself sick. Your in denial about your problem first step is admitting it.

Hi

I was exactly the same way as you and said exactly the same thing but it then gets to the point where you dont even have to make urself sick or stick your fingers back your throat. Luckily I have great friends so I spoke to them before I got seriously overcome with it. Talk to someone, friends, parents or go and see a g.p. My hair started to fall out my skin went very spoty and i was tired all the time and whenever I went to friends or restaurants I was thinking ahead of when and where I could throw up. Its not worth it and I can honestly say now I talked to people its help. If you wanna chat give me a bell.

Yes you are. It is dangerous wheither its a bad habit, "just temporary" or life controlling disease. If you make yourself sick, you will become very sick, and its is very dangerous.

Making yoruself sick weakens your heart, and makes you prone to heart attacks at unsually young ages. It also weakens your immune system (from damage done by doing this and depletion of nutrients, and malnutrition) which makes you more prone to other diseases.

You should also know that many bulemics don't even loose weight because of the gastrointestinal problems it causes which can include isulin imbalances(leading to weight gain and bloating), water retension, and of course a slow metabolism.

Please stop. And get help.

Yes it certainly sounds like you're bulimic, and you are obviously concerned about your weight. The best (and healthiest) way to lose weight it to exercise regularly and serve yourself slightly smaller portions. Don't cut out what you love (Choc, Wine, pizza etc), just keep it to small portions instead of HUGE! Throwing up will ruin your throat and teeth and YOUR BREATH STINKS! Chin Up! Maybe join weight Watchers or Rosemary Connelly.

everybody is different, so somebody else can't tell you whether you are bulimic or not.
however, if you think you can stop then you should, the majority of people with a problem cannot stop the behavioural symptoms.
also may think its not taking over your life, when it is.

you should see your gp for advice they can get you in touch with expert help. inducing vomiting is very damaging and can lead to serious complications. it will ruin your teeth and hands. but even more importantly you don't actually lose weight from doing it

the best thing i can advise is seeing your gp. my gp got me in touch with an amazing nurse who helped me and got me in touch with other people with eating disorders.

YES, it hasn't taken over your life........Yet !!! Carry on and it will take over your life : illness, weakness, in your case (F) it can make you infertile, by stopping your menstrual cycle, your hair/nails will get brittle and the worst of all is that the stomach acid will start inflaming your gut and your oesophagus (throat) when all this food comes back up. Try and see your GP who will advise you to see a dietitian and all will be clearer, as how to eat healthily and NOT put on weight. Simple !! GOOD LUCK !!! You need it NOW...............................

Making yourself vomit after eating doesn't help you to loose weight or prevent you from putting on weight. There are no calories in what comes back up.

You are bulimic. It doesn't have to take over your life to get that diagnosis. It just has to be the method you choose for losing weight. I suggest you exercise instead.

If you are making yourself sick you are bulimic I am afraid. You must take some advice asap, by doing this you are putting your body through a lot of damage, kidneys, liver, heart etc. You could also start losing your hair. Please seek help on this illness now before it escalates. Take care and good luck.

that is bulimia. an eating disorder such as bulimia doesnt have to take over your life but you are vomiting on a regular basis to maintain/lose weight and that could be dangerous. but you can overcome it. many girls have, like paula abdul, and are healthy. the media puts forth so much pressure for everyone to be thin. ive felt it too but you have to realize that weight is not what makes us who we are and it doesnt make us a better or worse person. talk to someone you trust who will listen to you and wil understand.

god bless.
