sorry bud but there's quite a few people that keep jobs until they retire. all the men in my boyfriend's family have done that. they all started out working at a plant and have worked themselves up. you think once a doctor finishes his degree that he doesn't keep that job until he retires? i mean sure someone who works at a plant may work for different companies but they usually stay in that same field and the same for doctors. they may start out working at one hospital and leave that one and go to another but they are still a doctor. so i guess it all depends on what field your career is in. now if your talking like mcdonalds or something then yea i could see where you wouldn't keep your job until the next year. lol.

It would depend on what kind of work you do. And how can you say lifelong jobs don't exist? What kind of work do you do?? Not that it falls under this category exactly but being a parent is a lifelong job....even when they are grown they still need you just as if they were 5.

" YOU women " excuse me buddy but by wording yourself that way you are suggesting that all women assume this. and thats not true.

my boyfreind is going to spend the rest of his working days in the medical feild. maybe some day he will be a doctor who knows. that means he spent MOST of his life with this sort of job. " lifelong " is to exaggerated to be true anyway.

you clearly have a job you dont care for or else you wouldnt be upset about this :P i think the best thing you can do is go to this woman and TELL HER THAT. theres not much help your going to get here. and if shes hinting for you to spend money on her just be HONEST.

i think ive seen every sort of question that can be asked on here now * shakes head *

okay, go ahead vent. But yes, "Shi* Happens". But lifelong jobs can exist. There's a saying called "lifers" which refers to that.
I'm guessing you lost a good job. Okay, it is what it is. Start looking for another one.
Getting mad or upset doesn't change the situation. It's a waste of energy.
