Welcome to the wonderful world of being owned by a Siberian Husky ;) Not just a job, but an adventure! But I'm sure you're finding that out by now..

Huskies are intelligent dogs that are somewhat independent, though that can vary with individual personalities. Because of their intelligence and natural instincts, they are constantly trying to figure out WHO"S the boss. So the MOST important thing you teach your husky is that YOU are the alpha personality in your pack.
Do some research on something called NILF(Nothing in life is free). Its basically a training philosophy that the dog must EARN its positive rewards. Teach your dog to SIT for any treats.
Thats one of the easiest things to teach because the reward is instantaneous. Its a good way to begin teaching your dog that YOU are in control and good things will happen to her if she does as she's told.
Because she's so young, you're going to also want to concentrate on training her NOT to chew on people's hands or inappropriate items. Also to not JUMP on people because as she gets older, its not going to be so cute and even could be viewed as aggression.
There's soo much to teach young dogs to make them good canine citizens. But, most of all, teaching them to listen to you could be a matter of life and death, so its not something to procastinate on.
Good LUCK!! :)

Im not sure what kind of things you would like her to learn but I can tell you to be patient and consistant with her training. Huskies are very stubborn and independent minded dogs. They can be trained fairly easy but you can never let up on it. Also since you have never had a husky, be aware that they will run away when given the chance. They are dogs who were bred to run and run they shall. They are great escape artists so be sure if you let her in your yard that it is secure. Leash train her early and never let her be trusted off leash. There are exceptions to every breed but this is just a heads up. They are wonderful dogs and very affectionate. Some just take some patience. Good luck!
